2009 NFL Weekly Picks - Week 3

Sunday 27 Sep

KC @ PHI

Eddie

Eagles

Fred

Eagles

Kevin Kolb for the Eagles has looked good enough to take Philly to a victory this weekend against the Chiefs.

Chiefs stink…not sure if I’ll ever pick them the rest of the season.

Ravens

Fred

 Ravens

Quinn remains the starter but I don’t think Cleveland issue should solely stand on the shoulders of Brady.   This team just plain stinks.

Browns stink too.  Ravens will destroy them.

Giants

Fred

Giants

I believe the Giants defense is a bit banged up but the Bucs haven’t impressed me at all.

Giants are the 2nd best team in the NFC.  They’ll pull out the win in Tampa.

Patriots

Fred

Patriots

The Patriots haven’t looked good but Wes Welker is back and I believe this is going to be an aerial assault in Foxborough.

I love the Falcons this year, but I will be shocked if Belichick and Brady lose at home.

Jets

Fred

Titans

This Jets defense is for real.  They have managed to shut down both Andre Johnson and Randy Moss but can they stop Chris Johnson of the Titans?

I can’t see the Titans starting the season 0-3

Packers

Fred

 Packers

I came into this season with high hopes and expectations for the Packers.  This should be a game where they begin to build momentum back after a disappointing loss last week.

I’m still stunned the Packers lost last week.  I like the Bengals this year, but would have NEVER called them beating the Pack in Green Bay.  This week, the Packers avenge that loss and CRUSH the Rams.

Vikings

Fred

 49ers

This is a tough one too because the 49ers came this year to play.  I’m only going with the Vikings because they are at home.

Mike Singletary is on his way to the Coach of the Year if he keeps this up.  Don’t get me wrong, I think the Vikings are the 3rd best team in the NFC.  I just got a gut feeling that the Niners will pull of the upset.

Texans

Fred

Texans

Schaub and Johnson should have another field day this week against Jacksonville.

The Jags royally stink this year.  But which Texans team will we see?  Even a bad Texans team should beat the Jags.

Lions

Fred

 Lions

Lions should get their first win this week but either way I think this will be a tight game.

Everyone is down on the Redskins because they didn’t slaughter the Rams last week.  Their offense does look primitive, and against a Lions team who appears to be getting exponentially better each week, the Redskins should lose this one.

 Bears

Seattle was a sleeper time and now they are plagued with inquiries.    Go with Chicago.

 No Hasselbeck, no way

 NO @ BUF

Eddie

Saints

Fred

Saints

The Saints are just an offensive juggernaut and they will need to rely on the arm of Brees since the Saints backfield is a bit banged up.  I expect another 3 touchdown game from him.

If the Bills win this one, they ARE legit.

Chargers

Fred

 Chargers

Miami showed a lot of resilience last week against the Colts but they get another tough matchup at San Diego.

There are so many awful teams this year, and the Dolphins are another one.

A division game means anything is possible.  I like the Raiders at home.

 Steelers

The Bengals shocked the nation last week but they won’t this week.

Can the Bengals knock off the best team in the AFC?  Possibly, but I’m still going with the Steelers.

Colts

 Cardinals

This should be a great game and one to me that is going to be too close to call.  I like the Colts in this Sunday night match up.

Only picking the Cardinals because they’re at home.

CAR @ DAL

Cowboys

Fred

 Cowboys

America’s team gets the spot light for Monday night.  Carolina may be in a bit of disarray right now but they are a tough team and should play Dallas well.

Panthers stink, Cowboys give their home fans a win this week.
