2008 NFL Week 11
Thursday – 11 November 2008
New York Jets @ New England Patriots
Eddie: (Winner – Jets)
Don’t you just love Thursday night games!! Somehow the Patriots just keep getting it done despite the injuries. The problem for New England is that the Jets are coming off a HUGE game and it will be hard to stop that momentum.
Fred: (Winner – Patriots)
Well, got this one wrong. Thought the Patriots could hold their own at home. It did take the Jets OT to finish them off though.
Sunday – 16 November 2008
Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts
Eddie: (Winner – Colts)
Last week’s win for the Colts was huge and kept them virtually in the hunt. Now would be the time for Addai and Harrison to show up but Wayne and Manning will still be too much for the Texans.
Fred: (Winner – Colts)
Colts defense is way better than the Texans D, and the Colts are at home.
Detroit Lions @ Carolina Panthers
Eddie: (Winner – Panthers)
You know you’re good when you can throw 4 INTs and still come out with a win. Well you’re either good or playing a horrible team. Looks like the Panthers struck gold again this week.
Fred: (Winner – Panthers)
With Duante at QB, any team that loses to the Lions should be ashamed of themselves. Panthers DESTROY the Lions.
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
Eddie: (Winner – Packers)
Tough tough loss for the Pack last weekend and look for them to rebound with a win in Green Bay.
Fred: (Winner – Packers)
Packers are a much better team than their record reflects. Packers D disrupts the Bears passing game and ultimately wins them the game.
Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Eddie: (Winner – Titans)
Whatever happened to the Jags of last year? Such high hopes for Garrard and Co.
Fred: (Winner – Titans)
The only undefeated team tacks on another Win against the suspect Jags.
New Orleans Saints @ Kansas City Chiefs
Eddie: (Winner – Saints)
Thigpen has this team looking decent and probably could have left San Diego with a win last week. I just don’t feel comfortable picking the Chiefs with Herm Edwards as the coach and Drew Brees on the other side looking for a revenge from the loss last week.
Fred: (Winner – Saints)
That Chiefs spread offense is looking really, really good. The Saints offense is just too much for these guys though, and they win a close one in KC.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Cincinnati Bengals
Eddie: (Winner – Eagles)
I can’t think of any feasible reason why I should pick the Bengals…….
Fred: (Winner – Eagles)
Even though it’s in Cincy, the Eagles blow out the Bengals. The Eagles are due for a big game, and this one should be it.
Baltimore Ravens @ New York Giants
Eddie: (Winner – Giants)
Ravens are playing great but it’s hard to see a rookie QB going into New York and beating the G-men!!
Fred: (Winner – Giants)
G-men make Flacco pee his pants and demolish the Ravens.
Denver Broncos @ Atlanta Falcons
Eddie: (Winner – Falcons)
My pick for Rookie of the Year, Matt Ryan keeps the undefeated streak at home alive vs. high flying offense of Cutler and Co.
Fred: (Winner – Falcons)
This game will come down to the last drive. I’m flipping a coin thinking it’ll be the Falcons with the ball to drive down the field to score and win.
Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins
Eddie: (Winner – Dolphins)
Miami should win this game so the real question is – will Oakland even score?
Fred: (Winner – Dolphins)
How can an NFL team be in so much disarray? The Raiders have no chance against a Dolphins team running on all cylinders.
Minnesota Vikings @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Eddie: (Winner - Buccaneers)
I look for A.P. to have another good game but the Bucs defense at home will be tough to beat.
Fred: (Winner – Buccaneers)
Bucs win this defensive struggle at home.
St. Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49ers
Eddie: (Winner – 49ers)
Congrats on your first win as a Head Coach Mike Singletary.
Fred: (Winner – 49ers)
As I’ve said now the past two weeks, no S-Jax, no win for the Rams.
Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks
Eddie: (Winner – Seahawks)
I guess one would call this an upset but I just have that feeling.
Fred: (Winner – Cardinals)
Hasselbeck and Branch are back, and the Seahawks are at home. But still, the Cardinals offense is too much and puts up plenty of points to get the “W”.
San Diego Chargers @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Eddie: (Winner – Steelers)
Hopefully by the time the game plays Pittsburgh will be smart enough to play Leftwich. He gives them a better chance of winning right now.
Fred: (Winner – Steelers)
Steelers defense versus Chargers offense is really the matchup here. I believe Rivers will finally have a bad game.
Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins
Eddie: (Winner – Cowboys)
Portis, the best running back in the NFL, isn’t 100% and is barely even 50%. Without him it’s hard to see the Skins competing.
Fred: (Winner – Redskins)
Betts should take care of business in Portis’s absense, and pinky-hurtin’ Romo makes enough mistakes to lose the game. Upset pick #1, and only one of the week!
Monday – 17 November 2008
Cleveland Browns @ Buffalo Bills
Eddie: (Winner – Browns)
The Bills are starting to fall apart and we’ll all get to see on Monday night why the Browns drafted the Mighty Quinn.
Fred: (Winner – Bills)
The weather is supposed to be awful, so I’m going with the Bills at home.

2008 NFL Week 10
Thursday – 6 November 2008

Denver Broncos @ Cleveland Browns
Eddie: (Winner – Broncos)
It’s about time we finally get to the Thursday night games. So now it’s time for the Mighty Quinn. I think this was an excellent move by the Browns. Quinn brings a swagger that I think the Browns need. Unfortunately, very few first time starters win their first games. Denver is also having to listen to the media about how bad their defense is so they’ll be playing with a little chip on their shoulders.
Fred: (Winner – Broncos)
Even with the ridiculous number of injuries, that Broncos offense is too good. Upset pick #1!
Sunday – 9 November 2008
New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons
Eddie: (Winner – Falcons)
The rookie Matt Ryan is really proving himself and is pushing for that rookie of the year vote. He’s developed a good rapport with Roddy White while Turner and Norwood provide that 1-2 punch. The defense is also playing very well. You can never count the Saints out while Brees is at the helm but I think this Falcon team at home will be too much.
Fred: (Winner – Falcons)
The Falcons at home are undefeated and it shows. Even with a rookie QB, their offense is amazingly effective on the ground and in the air. The Saints are off a bye week, and should finally have a healthy Colston and Shockey. This game should be a high scoring, fun one. Since the Falcons are at home, gotta go with them.
Tennessee Titans @ Chicago Bears
Eddie: (Winner – Bears)
Out of the remaining schedule for the Titans I think they’ll lose two; this week against the Bears and week 16 against Pittsburgh. Both teams are very physical and know how to win games with their defenses.
Fred: (Winner – Titans)
Sexy Rexy is back at QB, which means? It means a QB, that when under heavy pressure, really cracks. Titans rattle Grossman, run through the suspect Bears D and crush the Bears on their home turf.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions
Eddie: (Winner – Jaguars)
The QB position for Detroit is in disarray. I mean – Culpepper might start for the Lions and he JUST signed with them.
Fred: (Winner – Jaguars)
The Jaguars gave the Bengals their first win last week and are going to take their anger out against the lowly Lions.
Baltimore Ravens @ Houston Texans
Eddie: (Winner – Ravens)
Sage is taking over for the injured Schaub. Sage, at times, looks like he could be a starter somewhere in the NFL but then lays an egg to remind everyone why he’s the back up. This week he’ll lay that egg. Scrambled with cheese please – covered and smothered is what the Ravens are thinking.
Fred: (Winner – Texans)
Even though his name is wack, Sage knows how to run that Texans offense. Even though the Ravens are a better team, the Texans are at home, where they’re 3-1 this year, so they should have a little more offense than the Ravens to barely beat them.
Seattle Seahawks @ Miami Dolphins
Eddie: (Winner – Dolphins)
Okay Miami – you have my attention. Just don’t go and lose it by losing to Seattle. And Seattle – what in the LLEH happened to you guys?
Fred: (Winner – Dolphins)
I’m finally becoming a believer in Miami. They’ll definitely beat Seattle, but if they crush them, they are officially a possible playoff bound team.
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings
Eddie: (Winner – Packers)
Tough back to back games for the Packers as they come off that disappointing loss to the Titans. I expect the Packers to be playing for blood.
Fred: (Winner – Packers) => UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK!
Packers over Titans was our “Upset Pick of the Week” last week, and even though they lost, they did beat the spread. :) In this division rivalry, the Packers defense is due for a big game with a TD, and it has to be this one. Packers get the “W” in Minnesota. Upset pick #2!
Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots
Eddie: (Winner – Patriots)
I actually like both teams’ chances of winning this one but I’ll be safe and stick with the home team.
Fred: (Winner – Patriots)
3-1 at home against an injured Bills offense, it’s impossible to go against the Patriots.
St. Louis Rams @ New York Jets
Eddie: (Winner – Jets)
Just like the above game I think this is a coin toss. If Steven Jackson is healthy I really like the Rams’ chances but the Jets defense at home is going to be tough.
Fred: (Winner – Jets)
Like I said last week, no S-Jax, no win for the Rams.
Carolina Panthers @ Oakland Raiders
Eddie: (Winner – Panthers)
How can you not go with the Panthers after seeing Oakland play last week?
Fred: (Winner – Panthers)
There are some bad teams in the NFL this year and the Raiders are one of the worst, with coaching and player personnel. The Panthers will easily roll these chumps.
Indianapolis Colts @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Eddie: (Winner - Steelers)
Pittsburgh will probably be without Big Ben but Byron Leftwich is playing to showcase his talent for a gig next year and the Steelers will have that curtain up…. Watch out Indy – that L is coming head on. Ready to play chicken?
Fred: (Winner - Steelers)
I am not confident at all with this pick. No Willie and probably no Ben. Still, I’m going with that Steel Curtain defense at home.
Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers
Eddie: (Winner – Chargers)
Thigpen has been playing great and the Chargers defense has been a non-factor. The firing of the Charges defensive coordinator may provide that spark needed to “charge” San Diego.
Fred: (Winner - Chargers)
The Chargers are off a bye week at home against a Chiefs team that has discovered a new offense, which is actually pretty good. I still think the Chargers will win, but it will be a close one.
New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
Eddie: (Winner – Eagles)
Tough match up for both teams. I think the Eagles will bait Manning into a couple of interceptions which will allow McNabb and Westbrook to control the tempo of the game.
Fred: (Winner – Eagles)
As the season’s progressed, I’ve become a bigger and bigger fan of the Eagles. I’ll even go to say I think they’ll be the best team in the NFC East at the end of the season. With a 5-3 record, in the 5 wins they won by a lot, and in the 3 losses, they’ve barely lost. So, I guess that means the Eagles will crush the Giants on Sunday night.
Monday – 10 November 2008
San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals
Eddie: (Winner – Cardinals)
The Cardinals are an amazing team to watch at home and their defense has stepped it up too. I think this might be a closer game than anticipated.
Fred: (Winner – Cardinals)
At home, with the much better RB getting hand-offs from Warner, the Cardinals offense is virtually unstoppable. Off of the bye week, with the most attention the Niners have gotten in a few years, they will show up and make it a good game. But, the Cardinals are just a better team right now.

2008 NFL Week 9
Sunday – 2 November 2008
Green Bay Packers @ Tennessee Titans
Eddie: (Winner – Packers)
I believe the Titans are a better team but as they continue to go undefeated the odds get greater they’ll lose. Green Bay is a tough, physical and talented team. They definitely have what it would take to defeat Tennessee.
Fred: (Winner – Packers) => UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK!
The Titans have to eventually lose at least one. The Packers are off a bye week and they have three key defenders back in the starting lineup. Upset pick #1!
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cincinnati Bengals
Eddie: (Winner – Jaguars)
Just like the Titans odds it’s the other way for the Bengals. As they continue to go winless their odds get better they win the next week. The problem is they are playing the Jaguars. The Jags may not be the team they were last year but they are playing in a tight division and this win would be big for them.
Fred: (Winner – Jaguars)
The Bungals have to win one eventually, but not yet. Jags get the “W”.
Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns
Eddie: (Winner – Ravens)
I like the Ravens offense is starting to put together so if you put that with their defense and the Browns don’t stand a chance.
Fred: (Winner – Browns)
The Ravens defense is incredible and the running game, with McGahee, will get it done. But, the Browns offense and defense is looking better and better each week. At home, the Browns will win this close, low scoring affair.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Kansas City Chiefs
Eddie: (Winner – Buccaneers)
This weekend we’ll call Tampa Bay the Forest Gumps because they will be running and running! Chiefs don’t have the defense to match the Bucs.
Fred: (Winner – Buccaneers)
A playoff-bound Bucs team can’t lose to the pathetic Chiefs!
Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams
Eddie: (Winner – Rams)
I’m only picking the Rams because they are at home. I’d also feel a lot better about this pick if I knew for sure SJax was playing. He’s currently a game time decisions.
Fred: (Winner – Cardinals)
No S-Jax, no win for the Rams.
New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills
Eddie: (Winner – Bills)
We’ll see Favre struggle while the Bills easily take this one in Buffalo.
Fred: (Winner – Bills)
For the Bills, there should be no worries about the loss to the Dolphins last week. The Bills are for real and will stifle Favre and the rest of the Jets offense in Buffalo.
Houston Texans @ Minnesota Vikings
Eddie: (Winner – Vikings)
Schaub and the Texans offense may be hot right now but you have to be careful playing a team whose backs are against the wall. I think the Vikings will destroy Houston.
Fred: (Winner – Vikings)
This is a huge game for both teams. They’re both 3-4 and the loser will have almost no chance of making the playoffs. Since the Vikings are at home, and off a bye week, they should have just enough offense to outscore the Texans in this shootout.
Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
Eddie: (Winner – Bears)
Watch out for these Bears. They are flying in under the radar and if you blink too fast they’ll be in the conference championship before you know it.
Fred: (Winner – Bears)
Bears, at home off a bye week, against the Lions? A slaughter!
Miami Dolphins @ Denver Broncos
Eddie: (Winner – Broncos)
A lot of analysts are picking the Dolphins to upset the Broncos. I’m not so certain about that. Denver is a tough team at Mile High. Go with the home team.
Fred: (Winner – Broncos)
Broncos, at home off a bye week, versus the Jekyll-and-Hyde Dolphins. Even though the Broncos defense is atrocious, when clicking, their offense is unstoppable. Broncos get the win.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks
Eddie: (Winner – Eagles)
Eagles are just too good for the Seahawks even if it is in Seattle.
Fred: (Winner – Eagles)
With Westbrook and McNabb, the Eagles are a top 5 NFC team. They’ll both be playing so the Seachickens have no chance.
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
Eddie: (Winner - Giants)
With Brad Johnson at the wheel I don’t like the Cowboys’ chances.
Fred: (Winner – Giants)
The Cowboys were somehow able to beat the Bucs last week. Though, it was an ugly win. They’re coming to NY this week, and BJ is still their starting QB. BJ blows it, and the Cowboys lose.
Atlanta Falcons @ Oakland Raiders
Eddie: (Winner – Falcons)
Turner keeps this game on the ground while Ryan throws to victory. Fargas should have a decent game but will most likely abandon the run like always.
Fred: (Winner – Falcons)
Falcons got the taste of real competition last week against the Eagles. This week, they get the taste of an easy victory against the offensively-anemic Raiders.
New England Patriots @ Indianapolis Colts
Eddie: (Winner – Colts)
I still believe in you Indy.
Fred: (Winner – Colts)
“Cut that meat, Cut that meat!” Peyton and company easily take care of the RB-less Patriots.
Monday – 3 November 2008
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Washington Redskins
Eddie: (Winner – Redskins)
What a Monday night game. Cambell should manage this game well while Portis and Moss continue their offensive onslaught. Problem is – Pittsburgh has the pieces to stop both of them. What a game!
Fred: (Winner – Steelers)
Since 1936, except for one time, in the last Redskins home game prior to the election, if the Redskins lose, the incumbent party has lost the White House, else they stay in power. Not that I want Obama to win, but if you think McCain has a chance, you’re hallucinating. Steelers win. Upset pick #2!

2008 NFL Week 8
Sunday – 26 October 2008
Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
Eddie: (Winner – Eagles)
A rookie QB won’t go into Philly and take down the Eagles. This game probably stays close but the Eagles defense will help run away this game.
Fred: (Winner – Eagles)
Falcons offense is suspect on the Road, and the Eagles are off a bye week with Kevin Curtis starting again. Eagles should easily win this. If not, the Falcons are FOR REAL.
Arizona Cardinals @ Carolina Panthers
Eddie: (Winner – Panthers)
At home the Cards look like they belong in the discussion of playoff teams. Unfortunately for the Zona they are on the road.
Fred: (Winner – Panthers)
Cards are off a bye week and they look like they’ll have Boldin back. The Panthers are a top 5 NFC team though, and at home they’ll win this one, but it will be close.
Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins
Eddie: (Winner – Bills)
I like what Miami is doing but the Bills are playing tough consistent football.
Fred: (Winner – Bills)
Which Miami team is going to show up? I have no clue, but the majority of times it’s the losing one. Bills, a top 5 AFC team, should get the “W”.
Kansas City Chiefs @ New York Jets
Eddie: (Winner – Jets)
We play to win the game Herm so maybe you should try winning one or two.
Fred: (Winner – Jets)
Tyler Thigpen at QB for the Chiefs and it’s on the Jets home turf. J-E-T-S huge win!
Oakland Raiders @ Baltimore Ravens
Eddie: (Winner – Ravens)
I think we could keep only the Ravens defense on the field and they would still win.
Fred: (Winner – Ravens)
If Flacco’s safety blacket, Derrick Mason, isn’t playing, this game could get interesting. In Baltimore though, the Raiders offense just isn’t good enough to get more than 10 points against the Ravens D.
St. Louis Rams @ New England Patriots
Eddie: (Winner – Rams)
I’m riding the Rams while they are hot. Plus the running game for Pats is depleted and the defense has some questions. Stephen Jackson is a game time decision so if he doesn’t play I would go with the Patriots.
Fred: (Winner – Patriots)
Here’s two teams who destroyed their supposed tough competitors last week. I believe the Haslett-led Rams are a legit team again, but there not quite good enough to beat Belichick’s Patriots at home.
San Diego Chargers @ New Orleans Saints (In London)
Eddie: (Winner – Chargers)
Who knows how this game is going to be. Saints are without Bush and now Duece was caught taking the juice. I like San Diego.
Fred: (Winner – Chargers)
With no home field advantage, this game is a coin toss. If you can find a report on how well the teams slept Saturday night, I’d make you prediction of off that. Without that info, lets go with the slightly less injured Chargers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys
Eddie: (Winner – Buccaneers)
Oh how the mighty have fallen. I learned my lesson last week picking Dallas. Brad Johnson is not the answer.
Fred: (Winner – Buccaneers) => UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK!
Without Romo, it’s BJ’s job to lead the Dallas offense to the victory. Is that possible? No thanks to that BJ! In Big D, the Bucs should have the Dallas fans walking to the exits after the 3rd quarter. Upset pick #1, and the only one this week!
Washington Redskins @ Detroit Lions
Eddie: (Winner – Redskins)
Lions are done for the season and are officially in the rebuilding stage.
Fred: (Winner – Redskins)
Last week, after seeing Orlofksy run out of the back of the end zone, not realizing he just gave the Texans a safety, there’s no way I can pick the Lions with him at QB. Redskins are better than the Lions on both sides of the ball, so it should be an easy “W” for them.
Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Eddie: (Winner – Jaguars)
A fresh Jacksonville team should take over and control an unconfident Anderson. Quinn maybe?
Fred: (Winner – Jaguars)
I don’t trust Derek Anderson…period. One Monday night game it looks like he’s back to DA of last year, but the rest of the season he’s been a stinker. Off a bye and at home, the Jags will get the victory.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans
Eddie: (Winner - Texans)
I heard on ESPN today that Houston has never won three straight. If that’s true then after this Sunday they won’t be able to say that.
Fred: (Winner – Texans)
Fitzpatrick handing off to Benson…are you kidding me? That combo cannot beat Schaub handing off to Slaton, amongst many other advantages. At home, the Texans are the winners.
New York Giants @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Eddie: (Winner – Steelers)
What a game. Pittsburgh will need to win this game and Big Ben should lead them to Victory.
Fred: (Winner – Steelers)
This should be one heckuva game, and it all depends on the guys in the trenches. If the Giants can bully the Steelers O-Line, the Steelers offense is going to mightily struggle. The Steelers can also apply pressure and have Eli throws balls to the wrong team. I’m going to go with home field advantage and pick the Steelers.
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
Eddie: (Winner – 49ers)
I think we’ll all see a different and improved looking San Fran team. They should easily handle the Hawks.
Fred: (Winner – 49ers)
Bye bye Nolan, welcome more wins in San Francisco. In Seattle, no Hasselbeck equals no wins. Seattle is in serious trouble of losing all the rest of their games. At home, before they’re bye week, Niners win by a landslide.
Monday – 27 October 2008
Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans
Eddie: (Winner – Colts)
Everyone is already writing off the Colts. I’m not quite there yet and I believe this is a defining game for them.
Fred: (Winner – Titans)
After getting handled by the Packers in Green Bay last week, this is another tough road game for the Colts. I believe the Colts are playoff bound, but this week against the Titans, it’s going to be a defensive game which the Titans are better at. In this low offensive scoring affair, the Titans win on Monday night.

2008 NFL Week 7
Sunday – 19 October 2008
San Diego Chargers @ Buffalo Bills
Eddie: (Winner – Bills)
A once electrifying offense is nicked up and will be going against a hard nose smash mouth defense. The Chargers haven’t impressed me enough to warrant me picking them on the road against a good Buffalo team at home.
Fred: (Winner – Bills)
Bills are coming off a bye week, and at home. The Chargers have to travel from one coast to the other and play a 10am PST game. The great all-around Bills team wins this one.
New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers
Eddie: (Winner – Saints)
Brees will throw for 300+ yards in this game and shock the Panthers fans in Charlotte.
Fred: (Winner – Panthers)
This game defines which team is for real. I consider the Panthers another good all around team. Brees gets Colston and Shockey back, and I don’t think they will all click instantly. This will definitely be a close one, and since the Panthers are at home, I believe they’ll win it.
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears
Eddie: (Winner – Vikings)
Take a ride on the Gus Bus and tour what we call Upset Ave.
Fred: (Winner – Bears)
Okay, I’m screaming what the Vikings fans are now: “Fire Childress”. He’s has to be the only reason why the offense isn’t what it should be. Something is wrong with their offensive scheme! Bears have only lost two games, and they lost by 3 points to two good teams (Bucs and Panthers). The Bears are for real, and at home they definitely get the “W”.
Dallas Cowboys @ St. Louis Rams
Eddie: (Winner – Cowboys)
Get up get get down – 9-11 is a joke in your town. Apparently not in the Big D. Oh and 9 + 11 no longer equals 20. It now equals 7.
Fred: (Winner – Cowboys)
Even without Romo, the Cowboys can’t lose to the Rams and go 4-3. They have the best players in the offensive skill positions over any team in the NFL: Romo, Barber, TO, Roy Williams, and Witten. The Rams are probably without Orlando Pace too, which means Demarcus Ware will probably be getting up close and personal with Bulger all day. Cowboys win.
Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs
Eddie: (Winner – Titans)
Titans remain unbeaten. Nothing to see here folks ….. move along… move along.
Fred: (Winner – Titans)
Undefeated Titans off a bye week against the Chiefs…no contest.
Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins
Eddie: (Winner – Ravens)
You can line up Ronnie Brown as a QB if you want but against the Ravens? I think not.
Fred: (Winner – Dolphins)
The Dolphins offense is like that local comedian who always draws the big crowds because they’ve always got fresh material. The Dolphins defense isn’t bad either. I’m actually sold on the Dolphins being around 8-8 this year, so that means they have to beat the Ravens. Since it’s in Miami, go Dolphins!
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals
Eddie: (Winner – Steelers)
Should be an easy win but this is a divisional game and the Bengals are at home so beware. This has potential upset written all over it.
Fred: (Winner – Steelers)
Steelers off a bye week against Fitzpatrick and the Bengals. Easy Steelers “W”.
San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants
Eddie: (Winner – Giants)
Eli and Co. get things back on track after being embarrassed on Monday Night.
Fred: (Winner – Giants)
Giants are also for real. They got blind-sided by a QB with his confidence back, and a much healthier Braylon and Jamal. The 49ers offense is still finding its way and making great progress, but the defense has some severe weak links which teams have been exploiting almost every week. The Giants will run right through the Niners D onto the easy victory.
Detroit Lions @ Houston Texans
Eddie: (Winner – Texans)
Lions are done the for the season and are officially in the rebuilding stage.
Fred: (Winner – Texans)
This year’s Lions is last year’s Miami Dolphins. They’ll be lucky to get one win. The Texans offense and defense has a field day and destroys the Lions.
Indianapolis Colts @ Green Bay Packers
Eddie: (Winner – Colts)
I’m going with the Colts only because their defense has been unstoppable the past two weeks.
Fred: (Winner – Packers)
The Colts are for real. Their offense and defense have both looked amazing the past two weeks. But, Rodgers is healthier and Ryan Grant is soooooooo overdue. I think Grant will finally have his breakout game and the Packers offense is able to muster enough points to win this high scoring affair. Upset pick #1!
Cleveland Browns @ Washington Redskins
Eddie: (Winner - Browns)
Ride Mr. Anderson while you can because when he’s hot he’s hot.
Fred: (Winner – Redskins)
This will be a close and exciting game. The Browns offense is back, but the Redskins are at home and ready to have another great game. Skins barely win.
New York Jets @ Oakland Raiders
Eddie: (Winner – Jets)
Brett Favre is Brett Favre.
Fred: (Winner – Jets)
Don’t know much about the “Cable” man, but I know that the Jets pass offense is guaranteed for at least 3 TDs. The Raiders could only score 3 against the Saints offense last week…hahaha. Jets win!
Seattle Seahawks @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Eddie: (Winner – Buccaneers)
Bucs D will be too much for the once powerful Seahawks offense.
Fred: (Winner – Buccaneers)
Bucs defense is ridiculously awesome. With no Hasselbeck or Branch, the Seahawks have no chance against the Bucs.
Monday – 20 October 2008
Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots
Eddie: (Winner – Broncos)
Cassel on a Monday night = 2 interceptions and a lost fumble. Marshall on a Monday night equals 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Fred: (Winner – Broncos) UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK!
I can’t believe the Broncos are an underdog to the Brady-less, RB-injured Patriots. On Monday night, the Broncos offense will light up the skies in New England. Belichick isn’t going to look like a total fool on Monday night, so he’ll find a way to keep it close. But the Broncos offense is guaranteed to put up more points than the Patriots. Upset pick #2!

2008 NFL Week 6
Sunday – 12 October 2008St Louis Rams @ Washington Redskins
Eddie: (Winner – Redskins)
The Rams will eventually have to win 1 game but I doubt it will be against a hot Skins team.
Fred: (Winner – Redskins)
Off a bye week, and with a new coach, who knows what you’re going to get with the Rams. The Redskins have performed like a solid all around team against some tough opponents. Redskins win and go 5-1.
Miami Dolphins @ Houston Texans
Eddie: (Winner – Texans)
Just like the Rams the Texans will eventually have to win 1 game and this is it. At home and hungry the Texans will blow past the Dolphins.
Fred: (Winner – Dolphins)
Is Houston jinxed this year? They barely lost the last two weeks. The game before those, the sure-handed Andre Johnson drops 5 passes! Dolphins on the other hand have somehow managed to beat the Pats and the Chargers the last two weeks. I have to go with the spread on this one and go with the Dolphins.
Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
Eddie: (Winner – Vikings)
I can see AP breaking the single game rushing record in this game.
Fred: (Winner – Vikings)
The Vikings have yet to crush anyone this year. It’s now time. This will be a brutal beatdown. Vikings win by 14+.
Oakland Raiders @ New Orleans Saints
Eddie: (Winner – Saints)
Get used to seeing Bush in the highlights because it won’t stop this Sunday against the Raiders. Fargas is back in action for the Raiders so maybe he can stimulate the offense.
Fred: (Winner – Saints)
With the “Cable”man as the new coach, do the Raiders have a chance? Actually, yes they do. Fargas is back. The Saints have consistently made a ton of mistakes, especially penalties, this season thus far. The Saints should win, but it will be a close one.
Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Eddie: (Winner – Panthers)
Tough tough pick here. Divisional game here so both teams know each other well. I’ll go with the hot offensive team.
Fred: (Winner – Panthers)
Jeff Garcia will lead the Bucs passing offense, which means the passing offense will barely exist. This defensive matchup will lead to a low scoring game with the Panthers coming out on top. Upset pick #1!
Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets
Eddie: (Winner – Jets)
With Palmer out and the running back position unknown the Bengals have no chance.
Fred: (Winner – Jets)
Fitzpatrick will be the starting QB against a Jets team that’s fresh off a bye week and at home. Jets win.
Baltimore Ravens @ Indianapolis Colts
Eddie: (Winner – Ravens)
We are looking at a Colts team that could easily be 0-4. Something is lacking and the Ravens will exploit that.
Fred: (Winner – Colts)
I can’t help but believe in Peyton. The Colts have made the playoffs every year since 2002. 2003 and beyond their record has been 12-4 or better. The Colts will make the playoffs this year, so they’ll win this one and go 3-2.
Chicago Bears @ Atlanta Falcons
Eddie: (Winner – Bears)
Believe it or not this was another tough choice for me. I want to go with the home team but I think the Bears defense will prove to be too much for the rook Ryan.
Fred: (Winner – Bears)
Orton looks to be a good QB this year, Forte is the man, and the Bears D is pretty darn good. The Falcons have Burner Turner, but an average D and a rookie QB. Bears win.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos
Eddie: (Winner – Broncos)
I learned this lesson already. Denver in mile high = sure win.
Fred: (Winner – Broncos)
Broncos at home…nuff said. Denver gets win and goes 5-1.
Philadelphia Eagles @ San Francisco 49ers
Eddie: (Winner – Eagles)
Two weeks in a row I go with the 49ers and lose both of them. Guess who I’m not going to pick this week.
Fred: (Winner – Eagles)
Mike Martz needs to add some more shorter pass plays to O’Sullivan’s reportoir because he leads the NFL in getting sacked! Even without Westbrook and Reggie Brown, Eagles have their way with the Niners and get the “W”.
Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks
Eddie: (Winner - Packers)
I don’t expect the Seattle team we saw last week to be the same team we see this week but it still won’t be enough to take down the Packs.
Fred: (Winner - Packers) <= UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK!
It’s looking like no Hasselbeck for this game so this pick is a no-brainer. Packers are WAY overdue to pummel an opponent. The Packers win by A TON! Upset Pick #2!
Dallas Cowboys @ Arizona Cardinals
Eddie: (Winner – Cowboys)
As you saw last week the Cardinals are a tough team at home. They are explosive on the offensive side of the ball and if they can get to Romo enough and make him panic they might have a chance to win.
Fred: (Winner - Cowboys)
The Cardinals beating the Cowboys? It just doesn’t sound right. Cowboys win.
New England Patriots @ San Diego Chargers
Eddie: (Winner – Chargers)
I’m still waiting for the Chargers team we’ve all been waiting for. Chambers and LT are injured but I don’t think that stops them from winning a close one against the Pats.
Fred: (Winner – Chargers)
This is by far, the most intriguing game of the week. If the New England wins, they go 4-1, which is hard to believe with the pounding they took from the Dolphins weeks ago. If the Chargers lose, they go 2-4, and they can basically kiss the playoffs good-bye. This truly is a MUST win for the Chargers, and they’re at home, so they get the “W”.
Monday – 13 October 2008
New York Giants @ Cleveland Browns
Eddie: (Winner – Browns)
Braylon Edwards comes alive on Monday night while the Browns upset the Giants on Monday night.
Fred: (Winner – Giants)
We’ve had some high-scoring, exciting Monday night games this year. Will this be another one? Off a bye week, at home, under the Monday night lights…the Browns should come out guns-a-blazin’, right? I have no friggin’ clue! I do know that if Eli doesn’t screw up, the Giants are virtually unbeatable. I have to go with the Giants, but I sure would like to see the Browns be competitive.
